Our Crafts and Conversations sessions provide an invaluable space for NICU/NICCU parents to engage in therapeutic art activities and share their unique journeys. These sessions have become a sanctuary where parents can process their experiences and find camaraderie and comfort among others facing similar challenges.
Feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with many describing the sessions as a vital source of emotional support and connection. Our vibrant Conversations Sessions bring together Mighty Little Giants’ crafts, decor, food, and music, while the parents bring their voices, stories, and laughter.
This combination creates a warm and peaceful atmosphere amidst the hardships of the NICU. Through art as therapy, Crafts & Conversations has evolved into our most requested program, a testament to its impact on families’ mental health and well-being.

Postpartum depression is:
Depression that occurs after childbirth.
"Those who develop postpartum depression are at greater risk of developing major depression later on in life. Symptoms might include insomnia, loss of appetite, intense irritability, and difficulty bonding with the baby.
Untreated, the condition may last months or longer. Treatment can include counseling, antidepressants, or hormone therapy."
Research shows that 15% of new mothers show signs of postpartum depression. Mother's who have a child in the NICU are 40% more likely to suffer from PPD due to the atmosphere, financial stress, infant stability, lack of support and so much more. Research also states that PPD can last long after discharge from the NICU. Mighty Little Giants was created to become the peace in the midst of their storm.
